What we are talking about is how well it resists radiant heat on a scale of 1-100 point system. So when you hear us say our system blocks 97% radiant heat that means only .03 is passing through the barrier. So that means there is a lot of radiant heat blocked .Where does this heat go? This is why we highly recommend proper attic ventilation. Ventilation is very important when using a radiant barrier. Since all this radiant heat is being trapped between the rafters and your roof. We recommend installing a ridge vent and or solar attic fan. By simply adding a ridge vent along with your soft ventilation most attic temperatures drop by ten degrees or more. Remember our radiant barrier blocks 97 % of the suns radiant heat. So with our Special Radiant Barrier and proper attic ventilation you can safely say you’re eliminating 40 to 60 degrees out of your attic. That should put your attic temperature around 80-90 instead of 160 degrees without any of these home improvements. We can even wrap you’re a/c ducts with our radiant barrier to add a extra heat barrier allowing the cold air to stay at its proper temperature .Our radiant barrier is not a one season product. This is a perforated tear proof barrier normally used in attics. Perforated radiant Barrier is the way to go for attic installations because of condensation and temperatures. This perforated barrier allows the air to free flow all areas of the attic.
Special foil #2
Some call single bubble or double bubble radiant barrier is not perforated. This type is good for walls or sub-floors. Remember this foil product is thicker but still only blocks 97 percent of the radiant heat. All foil products need air space even in walls to function properly. So don’t be spending more $ because it looks thicker somewhere else.
